Audemars Piguet Launches New Royal Oak Circle Chronograph Concept Watch Michael Schumacher Limited Edition

Brazus Town, May 22, 2015 – Last night, Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet launched the new Royal Oak Ring Speed Chronograph Concept Michael Schumacher limited edition watch, which is a global watch The first mechanical watch for racing cars is also the first time that Audemars Piguet made a new movement for a brand ambassador. The launch event was held at Schaffer’s wife Cora Schumacher on a ranch in Zivran. Audemars Piguet Global Chief Executive Officer François-Henry Bennahmias and Schumacher’s longtime friend and agent Sabine Kehm welcome guests at the ranch dinner.

After tasting a private custom dinner hosted by Michelin Samsung chef Philippe Rochat and his team RSH, guests can taste and explore this creative watch provided by the F1 world champion legend.

In 2010, Audemars Piguet brand ambassador Michael Schumacher asked a seemingly simple question to Audemars Piguet engineers: Is it possible to make a mechanical watch for racing to measure and record extremely long continuous lap time?

This is a watchmaking challenge that mechanical watches have never encountered before. After nearly five years of development, Audemars Piguet can announce that it has conquered this challenge and launched the first mechanical watch for racing with complex functions. This watch is equipped with two sets of angular indexing systems on a single chronograph device, and both sets of angular indexing systems have independent ‘memory devices’.

This chronograph device drives two central hands, and these two hands can be controlled independently by three buttons: the first button is at the conventional two o’clock position, which can start and stop the chronograph; the second button is at the traditional The four o’clock position is used to reset the chronograph, and the most important third button is at the nine o’clock position.

With the third button, you can stop either of the two chronograph seconds hands and return the other seconds hand to the zero position and restart to start timing. This means that after recording the last lap time, the next lap time has elapsed. Start. As a result, having this watch eliminates the need for two or more hand-held chronographs, simplifying operation with a chronograph.

With this watch, you can also use a certain lap time as a reference: stop a hand with the stopwatch button, and use the flyback function of another chronograph hand through the button at 4 o’clock to restart each new lap Timing measurement.

Finally, you can use this timepiece as a ‘standard’ flyback chronograph by having two seconds hands side-by-side.

This watch is Audemars Piguet’s second chronograph named after this legendary driver. To pay tribute to Schumacher’s brilliant racing career, the Michael Schumacher Royal Oak Ring Speed Chronograph Concept will only be produced in 221 limited editions, praising him for completing 221 races in the F1 World Championship points race.

Michael Schumacher’s many-year friend and agent SabineKehm addressed the guests, saying: ‘It is an honor to welcome everyone to participate in the watch release that Schumacher participated in the design. We are very excited to witness the milestone of Schumacher’s creativity becoming a reality, Schumacher has invested a lot of time and enthusiasm for this project, and his feelings for the project are like treating his children. ‘

Audemars Piguet Global Chief Executive Officer François-Henry Bennahmias agrees. He said: When you see this legend, you look at a watch like a child first sees Santa. At that moment, we felt extra proud. For a dream, Audemars Piguet did it. ‘
